Dr. Dany Varghese is a Research Fellow in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Surrey, specializing in the domains of Learning and Reasoning using Inductive Logic Programming (ILP). His research focuses on developing advanced methods for machine learning that integrate logical reasoning, enabling intelligent systems to learn from data and apply that knowledge in a way that mirrors human reasoning processes.
A major highlight of Dr. Varghese’s work is the development of PyGol, an explainable machine learning system built on ILP principles. PyGol allows for transparent and interpretable machine learning models, making it possible for end-users to understand and trust the decisions made by artificial intelligence systems. PyGol is especially relevant in fields where interpretability and accountability are critical, such as healthcare, finance, and autonomous systems.
